Sunday showhouse.....and you're invited plus a major giveaway!

Happy Sunday! Finally a day where I feel no pressure to do anything...not that I done anything this week anyway having been sick......so the trend continues:) Many have asked about the progression of our home, happy to say the sheet rock is well under way so, fingers crossed I will may take a ride with hubby to the house just to get out for a few minutes, it will be my first outing in SIX loooooong days! Feeling about 50% better and that's a heck of an improvement over the 20% of yesterday! Next year, flu shot for sure.  Will take some "update pictures".....and will post tomorrow.  Now that I am finally on the mend and seeing an end in sight....I was thinking that the smallest everyday things, like going to the market, pharmacy and pickup has never looked so appealing! Just underscores that health really is everything.
Anyway as I do every Sunday, we will visit two "open houses". The first is a majestic horse farm in upstate NY, and the second is a fabulous ranch styled home in the mountains of California.  Do you have a favorite? Hope you enjoy!  Don't forget to scroll all the way to the bottom to read about my first ever giveaway. Hope whatever you are doing today is relaxing as Sundays should be!

This first house is just breathtaking, set on 750 gently rolling acres in Westchester County, NY...this is also a working horse/thoroughbred farm. Rebecca Rasmussen was the architect and Kelly Hoppen did the interiors. Clearly this was a winning collaboration. The results are breathtaking and a beautiful blend of the old and new.

'The beautiful colonial inspired home sits majestically on a small hill in front of a pond

The striking living room is done in a more transitional style with traditional elements

Beautiful candlelit dining room, understated elegance

Part of one of the hallways...love the deep dark floors

A sun filled beautiful seating area/sun porch gets  the neutral treatment and it looks fabulous

The neutral feel continues to the bedroom

Dramatic tall ceilings make for a gorgeous sun lit space

The indoor pool pavilion

Beautiful indoor pool

An angle from the master bedroom

Then we move onto the gorgeous Santa Ynez valley in California where David L. Leavengood created this stunning main ranch house on a cutting ranch on almost 5,000 acres. The interiors were done by Amy Weaver. This is every cowboys dream and even those "non cowboys" out there........
The home is perched atop one of the many rolling hills

One of the lucky inhabitants of this fabulous spread

Love the pared down opulence and the old world beams in the dining room

Beautiful rich velvets in bold colors complete the stunning and bright living room...really love the colors here....so rich and elegant

Cheery and elegant kitchen....yes I would be able to organize a hoe down from this kitchen!

One of the many courtyards complete with a fountain

The attractive master bedroom in a rich combination of earthy tones..love the leopard bench though it looks so tiny!

The beautiful pool and hot tub with a perfect vista...almost looks like a painting.
