I sure am. I don't feature that much fine art. I studied sculpture for two years in college and especially loved working in wood. This series leaves me speechless. The creation of Bonsoir Paris, the "Duramen"(heartwood) series was "Born of a simple impulse, the one to break with conventional ways of exhibiting, BONSOIR PARIS and its team have imagined a series of frames so strongly mistreated that they have become unrecognizable. Their wish is to break the properties of the compound, a form of compromise as minimal and it is efficient."
This piece is my favorite. The contrast of the chocolate-like wood and the white gallery wall is particularly striking. It's hand-carved Glossy Wenge wood.
The piece below is polished oak and sanded fir

My Summer in Europe: Pictures from lovely Florence, Italy
Florence is a must-see if you're going to Italy. It's just so beautiful. I went there for a day in the winter after I graduated college, and wished I had had more time. This summer we stayed for two days so I got to see more of this charming city. While the weather was much nicer in the summer, in the winter it was a treat because there were very few tourists about. If you can somehow manage to go in the Fall or early Spring that would probably be your best bet.

The famous Ponte Vecchio. The bridge is pedestrian and lined with jewelers.

The architecture in Florence is stunning and an interesting mix...
Piazza della Signoria
From my winter trip
There is an popular open-air sculpture garden in the famous
Piazza della Signoria
Inside the Palazzo Vecchio - the most prominent building in Piazza della Signoria
The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is unforgettable

The Baptistery of St. John boasts the famous bronze doors Michelangelo dubbed "The Gates of Paradise"
The beautiful Santa Maria Novella...

A "Belgian" rustic cottage with modern elegance
I'm not sure what "Belgian Rustic" means, but whatever it is I like it!
The dark wood timbers mixed with lighter neutrals is a palette I've always liked, and the nod to nature and a rustic "tied-to-the-earth" aesthetic is relaxing and homey.

Great sculpture!

Love this wooden armoire.

Check out my friend Van's house in World of Interiors
Van's home was featured in the November 2004 issue of World of Interiors! She was kind enough to share it with me and let me post it on Decorology. Van is one cool lady who has lived and worked all over the world and is known as the "Zing Girl," and is a branding and design guru. As you can tell from these photos - her husband's (a sculptor) studio is also their home. Pretty cool!

oh Brooklyn - how I miss you so!

Loving this little nook and the salon style wall.
