Earthy but refined - dreamy dining rooms and kitchens

No other room will serve you like a well designed kitchen, pantry, and dining room. Undoubtedly these serve there purpose - and look gorgeous!

I always like dining areas in or connected to the kitchen - it's so cozy and intimate.

I think I have a new favorite style! Modern rustic!

Decorating a home isn't a race - it's a journey worth enjoying. Tactile, handmade ceramics are best collected over time and look effortlessly chic when displayed as a group.

Mix provincial pieces and modern luxuries for a smart take on the rustic look.

A natural, earthy palette with touches of black, white and ochre is a good base to work with.

Walls that have a plaster- or lime wash-style finish work well as they provide a chalky surface that adds texture to a room.

When it comes to accessorizing, think about shades of tortoiseshell, pearl, ebony, seashell, crystal and bone.

The key to making this look cohesive is keeping clutter to a minimum, so it makes sense not to rush into purchases.

A capiz-shell hanging, driftwood and linen give natural warmth to this pared-back room.
*Personal note* I absolutely LOVE this bedroom. That bed looks perfect!

Stripped- back timber floors, doors with porcelain knobs and aged wardrobes and shelves are raw and rich.

Keep your colour palette to earthy tones such as sand, slate and ochre, and mix in the rich textures of stone and wood.

2 interior stylists, 2 different styles - which one speaks to you?

I love the work of both of these stylists! Vicky Sheard's work is earthy, elegant, and strong, while Selina Lake's is airy, light-hearted, and pretty. All that aside, are you able to pick one style over the other? If so, what is it about that stylist that really made it for you?
