The new stunning West Elm Artist collaborations inspired by South Africa

So...I try not to "want" too many things, cause I pretty much have everything I need, but...

probably my favorite piece in the collection.  The curve of the wood is gorgeous.  I would get the blue/brown. Cape Town designer John Vogel created these benches with webbed seats inspired by traditional African riempie weaving.

This console is a wonderful blend of clean, modern lines, and the grace of spindle legs.

How gorgeous is that red bench?  The "Source" bench is an update on a South African furniture icon.

This garden of pottery candleholders and vases were created by Johannesburg potters Anthony Harris and Gerhard Swart.

The horn-shaped back of this Vogel dining chair was inspired by the antlers of African Nguni cattle.

 I have really liked what West Elm has done the last few years, and their latest efforts are no exception.  I have a soft spot for all things that focus on craftsmanship, and tribal is huge right now, and all of these pieces marry the two.

A house in gorgeous warm whites filled with vintage treasures

I've had this house tour for a while and have been anxious to share it with you. This is the home of Marcia Nelson, who you could probably guess from her marvelous collections not only collects antiques, but owns an antique shop.

An adorable home decor and accessories store with a good cause

I was introduced to Nest a few weeks ago, and I finally got around to checking it out. Besides their products, the best thing about Nest is their mission:

"Nest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of women in developing countries. The mission of Nest is to support women artists and artisans in the developing world by helping them create sustainable entrepreneurial businesses. To do this, Nest provides micro-credit loans to be used for the purchase of the supplies and materials necessary to begin and/or maintain art or craft-based businesses."

I look forward to seeing what they have in the future as the companies grow! They also have a lot of cool, indie products by domestic designers.
